Thursday's discoveries
Apr. 29th, 2011 04:34 pm* Fantastic way to make hard-boiled eggs: put a pot of hot water on stove, heat to boiling/roiling. Put in eggs. Immediately remove pot from burner. When water is at a reasonable temperature, the eggs are done. (untested, but my therapist swears by it - will have to try this!)
* The bit in the Odyssey where Odysseus blinds the cyclops? It struck me that there's nothing new under the sun - this was an early version of "Who's on First". "What? No-one has blinded you? Then we'll just leave you to gods who did, and What's the name of the guy on second anyways?"
Ok, so less with the funny but still with the interesting to me.
