.....Kickstarter is not the answer to every interesting question.

F'r instance, setting something like that up to make Gargles shirts again, or the toothbrushes --

That's just the nuttiness getting to me. Right?

Please?

I'm serious, this is quantifiably A Bad Idea, right?

holy HELL. There was just maybe... 5, 10 seconds wherein the house was shaking.

I think that was a bit of an earthquake? Meh, that makes it sound impressive or something, like there should be damage. It was kinda like a heavy truck going by, rattling the windows - except it was the whole house. I was, er, not able to readily move to the advised doorway, but I was sure as hell lookin' at it as the door rattled, the floor was vibrating, and it just kept going, in a way a very heavy truck in the street wouldn't do.

And Quindar came through with a lovely little link about it already! Coool!

It is, however, very very sad that I immediately check LJ and facebook to see if I just hallucinated that, or if it was real.

My 89 year-old grandmother is... not doing so good. I talked with my parents tonight, and - things like she got new, digital hearing aids - and she heard the spring peepers "for the first time in 8, 9 years". She's putting up the expected fight against using a walker, though her right leg is going, and......

My parents talk about tearing down her falling apart house, selling their own, and building a combined dream house on the 30 odd acre property which is the base for the clan's land.

I don't think she'd survive long enough to see it. I don't know if my parents think this is a pipedream, if they're ignoring that, or if they need that something to hold onto.

just makes me wanna cry.
