Tiger and Bunny
Oct. 27th, 2011 07:11 amSo I've got this little problem which means I've got a drekload of stuff to do tomorrow today, but at least in all this extra time I had tonight, I finished watching Tiger and Bunny.
It's a hoot, and anyone who has the patience for a subbed anime, please give it a whirl. Imagine, if you will, a slightly futuristic NY type city, where super-heroes are real. They of course have a reality tv show, wherein they catch criminals (and do other such good deeds) for points. They have sponsors (I'm looking at you, Pepsi and Bandai!) they have to cater to, and secret identities and fan boys. Take the grumpy veteran hero, a spunky rookie, a basic buddy movie and give it some sweet plot (which learns to kick you in the teeth by the latter half of the series, in the way so many series never have the courage to do). Yeah, there's a bunch of the usual anime tropes, but I think it's meant in good fun? Pretty art, fun characters (not just the mains, but also the supporting cast!), and a series wide plot arc.
That's some good stuff, yo.
