Hit me with your best shot

norcumiI think Guitar Hero III was the first game we got for the XBox 360. Couldn't swear to it, but it was at the very least one OF the first.
I like it. It's silly, over the top, and caters to my ridiculous love for crazy music.
Well, the first half of the game, at least.
Quindar's tendency has been to play it on medium or occasionally hard, particularly since his favorite songs are in the first two sections, so who really cares about going on past that, when it's grinding through songs he doesn't like to even more songs he doesn't like?
I, of course, stick to easy and farm. My 'main' band is Blue Moon (since I figured that'd be how often I'd accomplish annnnything in that game!), and I've puttered with a little bit of everything. I've even gotten a few achievements! However, both me and Quindar have found that while it can be a fun little thing, it is NOT good for carpal tunnel and grumpy wrists, so our bit of cheap molded plastic mostly sits under the consoles and gathers dust.
Yesterday, we decided to put the set up on ebay. Of course, it had to be tested, right? ;)
And Blue Moon did the freakin' impossible. I've been sitting on the last boss battle for over a year, year and a half? Somewhere between a dozen and two dozen attempts to take Lou down, and no dice.
Guess all it takes it some incentive. 'Cause I went and beat the game. With someone watching - which of course doubles the difficulty to any video game feat. I beat Lou, I survived the encore, and puttered around with the credits THING since they are not going to stop their credits just to boot me off stage due to not rocking enough and not hitting all the notes. :) Besides, I wanted to watch the pretty, and when I'm playing I get tunnel vision.
I still feel oddly good about all this. Moving is driving me nuts, and I descend into a frothy mess every now and again (Can. Not. WAIT. for this to be over!), but we're making progress. Two weeks. OhGODS.
