Gundam Gargs: Roots

Gundam Gargs has its roots in evil. Just letting you know, in case you were wondering. See, waaaaaay back in the day - over a year, prolly two - I was cruising the garg fic archive, and I saw someone was doing a gargoyles gundam wing crossover.
I could not imagine that working, so of course I clicked the link. The result.... was painful. Very, very painful. I'll spare the details, but I suppose if I tried, I might be able to dig up a link should anyone wish to know where it came from.
But here's the thing. The idea had caught me, and I wanted to see it work. Now, I did not see anything involving the good ol' Manhatten clan piloting giant robots, but still, there was indeed something that wouldn't let go.
So I gave myself a challenge. Cross over 2 universes that CAN'T. Make it work. Take the characters of one show, plonk them down into another show, adapt what needs changing, and see where it goes. Alter the universes, and merge them.
Mind, I wasn't content to leave things at that, so I put further restrictions on myself. After the intro - which I did from the point of view of all 5 "pilots" because it's what gets me in the mood to do it all - keep to one perspective..... that of the character I most hate in the show.
I think that leads nicely into a quick overview of GW. Should you want the nice clear intro, I recommend the first episode (...well... just the first 5 minutes or so: no need to punish yourself), which is of course up on You Tube. Take a slightly futuristic setting, in which Earth has several space colonies. Said colonies of course want independence, and Earth of course wants total control of them. Yes, yes this is based a lot on the 1800's and colonialism.
(that should so be a link to wikipedia, but I really don't care enough. sorry.)
So the colonials send in their giant robots, manned by teens of various sorts. Their profiles are nicely listed HERE by some of the best fic writers I have found for the universe; Mel and Christy. I totally recommend anything written by them. They are gods. Worship them. Let me make it clear how awesome they are: the only thing I got out of the show originally was the opportunity to be loud and obnoxiously mocking, and they made me want to watch it again.
Anyway, these guys keep running into other regular characters, including one of the most whiny, irritating moronic girls evar. Relena. Thankfully, the sub version proves to be far lessirritating suicidal insane stupid than the dub, so Relena isn't quite so bad. Consider this version of her rather non-canon. There's lots of battles, explosions, and giant robots, which will of course have to be included somehow by the end of this metaphorical fid (and yes, I do know how. Feel free to guess or even ask).
So here we have the main players, and hopefully enough info to make some things clear and make others entertainingly opaque.
