Moving right along
May. 7th, 2012 11:23 pmInternets! O, glorious internets, how I've missed you so!
So we moved last weekend, and that went pretty ok. Though the result is, in essence, to have taken all our belongings from a house (...really, half filled at best), dumped them onto the floor of an apartment (quite nice, too!), and now have to wipe everything off with Clorox wipes.
Take a moment, and look around you. Take in everything that's in the room with you. The desk you might be sitting at, all the books on the shelves, every last cable and wire leading to your computer, the cat and/or plushies, depending on what kind of person you are....
and imagine having to wipe down EVERY. LAST. THING. that you can see.
My life is so much fun right now!
{{Sarcasm Self Test Complete!}}
Ok, seriously, the new place is lovely, and I'm SO glad we made the move I can't even begin to rant enough. I just wish the moving process had been... kinder, shall we say. Or at least with a shorter tail.
Still! We have a lovely place to live, we're both feeling MUCH better than we were in the old place, and we're trucking right along and getting more of our stuff together. And after a week, the cable company even got us the right gear to get back online, so I'm gleefully looking forward to puttering around again.
I actually found the week offline to be interesting. I'm not as addicted to WoW as I thought I was. It was a holiday week, during which I could've done things that are of significance to my main - and I wasn't frothing at the mouth, desperate to get online, or any such other thing. Sure, I miss the hell out of my social contact, but there wasn't the need for a hit, or something.
Hell, I was jonesing more for my e-mail than my WoW. ^_^ That's a good sign, I think.
In the meantime, I shall sputter incoherently at Mel for recommending the Belisarius Saga, the first two of which I was smart enough to download onto my kindle prior to lack of Internets, and have just freakin' devoured. ::shakes an impotent fist at Mel:: Foul, madam, FOUL, I say!!! Playing on my love of alternate history and absolute adoration of ancient Rome - FOUL!!
.... first few hits are free, man. Folks should saunter over and read them some time.
And now, off to try to catch up with a week of internets and more cleaning/moving stuffness!

Valentinian is AMAZING. Mind, I am now THIS close to seeing if the net connection is good enough to pop on to WoW and make you LOTS of Sharp Pointy (caster) Death since, well, he deserves it? ;)
