Dick moves and "tanks" for dropping your pants
So this elemental invasion event thing is... different. I find I'm kinda enjoying it, strangely enough.
But damn, this leads to some asshat moves. Now, there's the usual moronic moments, wherein (sigh... usually the tank) certain folks have gotten the quest, and thus the quest giver is leashed to them, and they go haring off to kill the boss before anyone else can get said quest (usually until after said boss is DEAD wow I'm bitter. Sorry. :-/ )
But some folks really shine. Now, first off, I need to fess up. I've off-specced Mel to be a tank. I am, in fact, collecting gear.
... I'm prolly not really going to tank anything, but still.
So the earth boss has a very nice shield, and a fantastic DPS chest piece, so I've been farming her a lot. And today Mel got to make friends with Poolish. Now, Mel has some equipment issues apparently (or some healers don't like having to work to keep her alive and kicking, unclear which). I think there's been a handful of times where I haven't died on the bosses, and that's across 3 alts. Notably, the hunter dies the least. /eyeroll So when the shield came up today, Mel was dead. I asked if anyone minded if I rolled need for off spec, at which point Poolish gave me a "YES". Note punctuation. Siiigh. Too much attitude for me, but hey, I didn't ask to turn around and be a dick myself. So I roll greed, and Poolish the pally who rolled need obviously got it. "tanks" and then he left the group.
The healer had already left the group. Me and the other dead guy were the only ones left.
Head. Desk. It's things like this that makes me roll healers, just because it pisses me off that much. I still consider myself fortunate to have been mid-port when I entered the dungeon in the first place, since I had seen earlier today that when one is the last one out of the dungeon, corpse-running it, then you get stuck coming out of the dungeon, rather than where you were SUPPOSED to go back to. With a hearth in Northrend on cooldown, and a goal in Outland, and potentially being stuck in Tanaris, I think it's a little understandable that I was... irked. Thankfully, for whatever reason, I ended up back in Shat after that, which is where I wanted to be.
ANYWAY. Positive side to all of this. Hepzibet had fantastic luck, and got most of the nifty tier 10 equivalent gear I'm after. Of course, the armory hasn't been updated with stuff yet, so right now Hep's sparkly new pants don't show up. That makes for an odd character page.
Kharisa has both tanking armor and the aforementioned DPS armor, so I'm mostly done farming for her. Mel, of course, is being difficult.
